What you’ll see when you install

inFlight ATC downloads as inFlight_ATC.application — a Windows ClickOnce installer. It is signed with a Sectigo code-signing certificate issued to Double5 Media LLC, and it installs nothing but inFlight ATC: no bundled offers, no toolbars, no third-party installers.

Because the app is new, Windows SmartScreen builds its reputation over time and may show this the first time you run it:

“Windows protected your PC — Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting.”

This is normal for newly released software and the prompt disappears as more people install it. inFlight ATC appears in Add or remove programs like any other app and uninstalls cleanly from there.

Does it work with MSFS 2024?

Yes — inFlight ATC connects directly to both MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020. It knows your position, radios, and transponder, auto-detects your flight phase, and can tune COM1 and trigger pushback inside the sim.

Can I really talk to it with my voice?

Yes — and that's the biggest thing the sim's own ATC can't do. MSFS gives you a menu to click; inFlight ATC gives you a push-to-talk button. Hold it, say the call out loud, release. If it runs MSFS comfortably, very likely yes. inFlight ATC runs on spare CPU cores and uses no GPU, so your frame rate stays with the sim. Check the system requirements: the short version is a 6-core CPU, 16 GB RAM with MSFS 2020 (32 GB with MSFS 2024), and 6 GB of disk space. PC only — Xbox is not supported.

I've never talked to ATC in my life. Is this for me?

Do I need SimBrief?

No — it's optional but great. With SimBrief (free) the app pulls your OFP in one click, so clearances match your real route and cruise. It also picks up a plan you set up on the MSFS World Map before the flight (not one built in the in-cockpit EFB), or you can just fly VFR and use flight following.

What if I miss a call or say the wrong thing?

Ask for a say-again, or read the transcript in Beginner and Intermediate modes. The frequency keeps moving, like the real world — but nobody's judging. That's the point of practicing here first.

Is this for real-life ATC training?
